Biography

Tomas Schugurensky (b. 1999, Seattle, WA) is a Los Angeles–based artist and lighting designer whose work bridges abstract exploration and pragmatic craft. With a background in architecture and professional experience as an architectural lighting designer, he creates one-of-a-kind lamps as open-ended studies of light and form—free from the constraints of clients or rules. Each piece begins with a loose plan, evolving into distinct results that reflect his ongoing practice. Schugurensky graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Architecture. His works are held in private collections across Seattle, Colorado, California, and New York City.
