MEY is pleased to present Mulholland, Drive! at the inaugural edition of the Uhaul Art Fair. Featuring works by Grace Horan, Annabelle Parrish, Samuel Alexander Forest, K.T. Kobel, Ryan Lee, and CJ Escobar Rodgers, this presentation is an homage to the gallery's home base of LA and one of its enduring icons: David Lynch. Beyond deeply influencing the aesthetics and philosophies of what could be considered “post-contemporary” art, Lynch’s awareness of the artifice of Hollywood strikes a parallel with Uhaul Art Fair in its interrogation of the structures and performance of the Art World. Mulholland, Drive! features six artists who embody what has become known as the “Lynchian”: the uncanny, the absurd, and the nostalgic. Presented together in this setting, their simultaneously eerie and saccharine renderings demonstrate an awareness that while the “glory days" of the traditional sphere — be it Hollywood or the white cube — may have faded, something far more fascinating may be on the horizon.
